Comments– The more I see these older horror movies, the more I dislike all the CGI bullshit we have today. The Thing is a great movie, and may be one of my favorites in this genre. It is suspenseful, bad ass, and made me a jump a few times along the way. Kurt Russell is fantastic, and the rest of the cast is great too. I have been wanting to see this movie for years, but never have until tonight- the wait was worth it. It looked great on Blu-Ray. And the special effects were awesome! I wish we would use more puppets today like they did in Jaws and The Thing, etc. because they just look so much cooler in my opinion. I want to keep this one short because I know pretty much everyone has seen this movie, but all in all, I REALLY enjoyed it. Bridgette thought the ending could have been a bit “harder” for Russell’s character, but I didn’t mind it at all. Great-good.
Branden has been a film fan since he was young, roaming the halls of Blockbuster Video, trying to find the grossest, scariest looking VHS covers to rent and watch alone in the basement. It wasn’t until recently, though, that Branden started seeking out the classics of cinema, and began to develop his true passion for the art form. Branden approaches each film with the unique perspective of having studied the art from the inside, having both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in acting. He has been a film critic since 2010, and has previously written for Inside Pulse Movies, We Love Cult, and Diehard Gamefan. His biggest achievement as a film critic, to date, has been founding Cinefessions and turning it from a personal blog to a true film website, housing hundreds of film and television reviews, and dozens of podcasts.
