#315Albums is a list of 315 albums that appear on both the Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list, as well as the 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die book, edited by Robert Dimery. At its best, it is a representation of some of the greatest music ever released; at its worst, it is a journey through the history of music that the majority see as important, influential, and/or relevant. If nothing else, these albums are worth experiencing at least once to get a better understanding of music, which is why we are working to complete all #315Albums.

No. 038

“on Side One of this pioneering album, Dylan amplifies his cryptic, confrontational songwriting with guitar lightning and galloping drums. ‘Subterranean Homesick Blues’ and ‘Maggie’s Farm’ are loud, caustic and funny as hell.”

Artist: Bob Dylan
Album: Bringing It All Back Home
Released: 1965
Label: Columbia
Rolling Stones Ranking: 31

Bob Dylan is so good that he had my 7-month old daughter dancing while I played this through the house today! Bringing It All Back Home is a catchy as hell album that is just fun to listen to. The instrumentals make you want to move, and the vocals beg you to sing along. This album, though not my favorite of Dylan’s I’ve heard, is a great example of why I enjoy his music so much. It’s memorable, poppy, and has an important message in the lyrics, even if the meaningful songs were a bit more rare this time around. This is definitely one I want to get on vinyl and play even louder.
