Day 04 – Your favorite werewolf film
Film: Dog Soldiers (2002) – dir. Neil Marshall
Dog Soldiers has got to be one of the most underrated horror films I’ve seen. It is fantastic. Neil Marshall is the director of another film that will most likely make an appearance during these 30 days, but Dog Soldiers has to be his most underappreciated effort (his two latest films – Doomsday and Centurion – have not been looked highly on by critics).
Dog Soldiers follows a Special Ops squad on a training mission. The training mission turns sour when they stumble upon the bloody remains of another squad. Once they hear howling, they run for their lives. Anyone who hasn’t seen this werewolf film needs to correct that.
Branden has been a film fan since he was young, roaming the halls of Blockbuster Video, trying to find the grossest, scariest looking VHS covers to rent and watch alone in the basement. It wasn’t until recently, though, that Branden started seeking out the classics of cinema, and began to develop his true passion for the art form.
